YOUR KEY. YOUR CHOICE.

Unlock AI research.

No extra AI subscription from Wall Street Watchers. Use your own provider account and API key. A ChatGPT, Grok or Gemini chat subscription may not include API usage. Your provider may require separate API billing or credits, and may charge for searches. Wall Street Watchers never supplies a shared paid key. Local price calculations and saved reports work without an AI key.

OpenAI

  1. Open the OpenAI API platform and sign in to your own account. OpenAI is the simplest starting choice for this program.
  2. Open Billing in the API platform. Review prices and add API credits or a payment method if required. A ChatGPT subscription does not pay this API bill.
  3. Open API keys, choose Create new secret key, and give it a name such as Wall Street Watchers. Copy the new key; you may only see it once.
  4. Return to Settings (desktop) or Setup (browser). Select OpenAI and paste the key in Your API key. The program selects the model automatically.
Open OpenAI key setup (new tab)

Grok (xAI)

  1. Open the xAI Console and sign in or create your own account.
  2. Review API pricing and billing in the console. Add credits or billing details if the provider requires them. Check that your account can use web search.
  3. Open API keys in the console and create a key for Wall Street Watchers. Copy the secret key.
  4. Return to Settings or Setup. Select Grok (xAI) and paste your key. The program selects the model automatically.
Open Grok (xAI) key setup (new tab)

Google Gemini

  1. Open Google AI Studio and sign in with your own Google account. This program uses the Gemini API.
  2. Open API keys and choose Create API key. Select or create a Google Cloud project when prompted.
  3. Review your project's API access, quotas and billing. Enable billing if required for your chosen model and Google Search features. Copy your API key.
  4. Return to Settings or Setup. Select Google Gemini and paste your key. The program selects the model automatically.
Open Google Gemini key setup (new tab)

Finish: choose a company, open Research and select Research company. This sends a request using your key and may cost money on your provider account. A successful cited response confirms access; no paid test is run automatically. If access fails, check the provider, key, model and API billing. Never put a key in notes, reports, email or support messages. Keys remain in memory only: closing the desktop app or reloading/signing out of the browser clears the input. Use Clear key to remove it sooner. An already sent request may still be billed. Browser keys pass through the server for that request; use HTTPS for hosted access, or localhost on your own computer. Microsoft Copilot and Google Assistant accounts are not supported key providers in this version.

Start your first search

  1. Open Wall Street Watchers and select Settings, or open Setup in the browser workspace.
  2. Select your provider and paste your key in Your API key.
  3. Choose a company, open Research, and select Research company. Your provider may bill this request.

If the selected model is unavailable to your account, check provider access or select another provider. The program manages model selection. Citation checks may withhold an answer if its sources cannot be verified. Never send your secret key to support.
